Happy 250th!!!

Happy Independence Day #250, USA!

Happy 4th of July, fellow Americans! This is a big one--250 years as a free nation! When we celebrated 200 years, I was just 16 and it seems that the USA was a lot more excited back then with nightly viewings of the celebrations going on all across the United States of America. There was a lot more patriotism back then and very little now. I am still so proud to be an American and I hope you are, too. I did not realize it but it has been over 6 months since my last newsletter. Let's just say that farm life and David's Garden Seeds keeps me very busy. I am looking forward to today and tomorrow off so I can clean my house! I wish I could be at the beach but I just had toe surgery this week and am still in pain and having to change my bandages every few hours.

Back in April, David had heart surgery to get him out of atrial fibrillation. He is now doing very well.

This past May and June, we got ten new baby goats--7 boys and 3 girls. They are so incredibly cute. Alice, Trixie, Gracie, Lucy, and Ethel each had a set of twins. In about a month, the first set, Ricky and Fred will be weaned and ready to go to a good home. They have been wethered so they will make great pets. They are Nigerian Dwarf goats. Their father is a registered full blood Nigerian. This was his first go-round with kids. We got him last December when he was 8 months old. He did himself proud.

Our Farm Store has new hours. We will be closed today and tomorrow. Our normal hours are now Thursday and Friday from 10am until 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. We are closed Sunday through Wednesday to work on seed orders.

Let's not take our freedoms for granted in this wonderful country as we celebrate this weekend. We thank God for the freedom to have our own business of providing seeds and gardening information for all of our friends. God bless all of you and God bless America!
