Bees

The bees are doing well. They can be seen all over the place, scouting and working the flowers all around.

We got meat bird chicks, cornish crosses, to see how they will work. They are now two weeks old and should be around for another six weeks. I ordered 15 of them. They sent me 16. They are almost all feathered out. When they get all of their feathers, they will be put outside to fatten up. Once they are eight weeks old, they are ready to go to freezer camp.

Fall planting here on the farm has begun. Beds are being weeded while the empty ones are being planted. We are hoping to have some good crops and have folks come pick their own vegetables for a fee. This is called Agritourism, aka Pick Your Own.
