Our stray kitty was skunked last Fall. We didn't think she would let us do the usual remedies so we just waited it out and tried not to smell it! We didn't let her inside until 24 hours had passed. (Actually she came in before we knew she had been skunked, but she turned around and went back out on her own so the smell was in her pretty bad but she did not stay inside.) We rubbed a little baking soda into her fur a bit as we petted her, as often as she would let us. She would just shake it off soon. And in each room she would be in we had a small bowl of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar. It was almost stronger than the skunk smell. It really did help. We made it through without having to bathe her. It took awhile before the smell was totally gone from our bedroom where she has her bed.
